Jesus gave us himself. Jesus came and he gave us himself and that is the unique and powerful difference between Christianity and ever other ideology and system whether they work well or they fail like Islam. As a result, what we see in worlds and civilizations that do not hold to the Incarnation is something akin to what C. S. Lewis described when he said, “It’s always winter and never Christmas.” But for us, we have Christmas. The beginning place of the Incarnation is the beginning place of all relationship, the beginning place of all transformation, the beginning place of all culture. For us, home base is Christmas. And for us, the declaration of the Christ who has come, the Redeemer who has finished the work and who now rules and reigns at the right hand of the Father is a message that the world is desperate to hear. Let’s go celebrate Christmas!
