Extraordinary Splendor

G. K. Chesterton once quipped, “There is nothing more extraordinary than an ordinary man, an ordinary woman, their ordinary children and their extraordinary grandchildren.”

Just a little over a week ago, our first grandson was born.   Theodore Isaiah weighed 8 lbs 5 ounces.  He’s going to be a busy little boy keeping up with all our granddaughters.

Our four beautiful granddaughters range from age 3 to 6. Their names are Katherine Abigail, Joy Evangeline, Lydia Mae, and Anne Elaine.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines splendor:

  • magnificent and splendid appearance; grand
  • I am pretty sure that one of the synonyms for splendor is grandchildren.
